Kanha Shantivanam 27th August 2022

Despite being unwell, Daaji met his guests and took them for a round around Kanha while they participated in the plantation drive. He also got some great news on the proposed plantation drive at Jaora, Madhya Pradesh.

Where Can We Find God?

It is peaceful not to search for Him in the right place, because what happens when we really find Him in our hearts? All that we wish, think, and do cannot escape His awareness. So, subconsciously, we look around in all the wrong places for fear of finding Him! What will happen to our freedom if we become pure and simple? That is perhaps one of the reasons why most people do not like to pursue spirituality. If they pursue spirituality then what happens to their partying, drugs, sex indulgence, corruption, cheating, and dishonesty at multiple levels?

The activities of the day began with breakfast, followed by a visit to the former site of the medical center in Kanha. Daaji was there with Sudhir Marwaha to plan a new construction project but, feeling unwell, he returned home in a few minutes.

Manoj Ahuja, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Delhi, visited Kanha Shanti Vanam. He was taken on a tour of the campus between 8.30 and 11 a.m. and was also guided through a meditation session.

In reply to an e-mail regarding where to seek God, Daaji shared a beautiful story.

Where Can We Find God?

I would like to share with you a fine story that transpired a few hundred years back near Varanasi. It is about Saint Kabir.

“Mandir, masjid… ye sab aadamjaat ne banaya hai, aur tujh ko to Khuda ne banaya hai,” declares Kabir’s mother to her little son, agonizing over his forbidden entry into the mosque and being insulted with names like kaffir by the Mullas and darinder by the Pundits. She coaches him not to belittle himself, saying, “All these institutions are manmade, so how are you going to find the real Creator in such places? Look within, the temple that is you, as you are made by Him and He must be realized only from there.” Little Kabir’s heart flies into ecstasy hearing those words – you are made by Khuda. Then God speaks to him, “Moko kahan dhunde re bande, mein to tere paas mein, na masjid mein, na mandir mein. [Why do you look for me in temples and mosques when I reside within you?]

It is peaceful not to search for Him in the right place, because what happens when we really find Him in our hearts? All that we wish, think, and do cannot escape His awareness. So-called freedom – freedom to choose – confines an individual to their choices, and they then remain confined to those choices. Can you call that freedom? Please think over this.

In spite of his health issues, after lunch, Daaji met up with Anil and Shobana Kamineni, parents of Upasana Kamineni from the Apollo group of hospitals. It was Anil Kamineni’s birthday, and the couple was accompanied by 20 other family members. Daaji cordially welcomed all of them and spent time in their company between 3 and 4.30 p.m.

Daaji took them all on a guided tour of the rainforest near Gokul Point and showed them the rain gun sprinklers, a variety of plant species, and the farmlands. He also showed them sandalwood trees and explained how villages could become self-sufficient within 15 years by growing sandalwood. After engaging in the plantation in the rainforest area, the Kaminenis took leave.

From 5.30 to 6 p.m., Daaji gave a remote sitting to the film actor who had visited Kanha the previous day and spoke to him over a phone call after the sitting.

Later, Daaji received an update on the plantation drive held at Jaora, Madhya Pradesh on the 26th of August 2022. Ankit Jaiswal from the 24th battalion, Jaora, and Rajendra Pandey, MLA of the city, had participated in planting trees as part of the program, and Daaji was very happy to hear all the news.
