Kanha Shantivanam 3rd July 2022

The mind has a tendency and habit to wander all the time. Slowly we try to regulate it, not control it. It will take time. Don’t fight with thoughts, let them come. The more we give them attention, the more our mind is attracted to them. Just remind yourself that you are meditating.

The Presence of Revered Yoganandaji and Pujya Babuji Maharaj

The presence of revered Yoganandaji was felt along with Pujya Babuji Maharaj. Yoganandaji expressed his vision of the future, and Babuji approved it. Let us see how things move in the future. While I wonder how it will happen, I’m pretty sure it will happen since they want it. What is required from all concerned is open-heartedness and generosity of the heart to accept each other.

Seeking God

no one can recognize the original form of God, we can only imagine it. For example, today if we think of Lord Krishna, the face of Nitin Bhardwaj, who played the role of Shri Krishna in the Mahabharat television series, comes in front of us. If we are unable to recognize the original form of God, what is the purpose of darshan [vision of the Lord]?

Daaji conducted meditation for over 1700 practitioners in the main meditation hall of Kanha Shanti Vanam from 7.30 a.m. to 8.05 a.m. The guests who joined the session included Shri Chaitanya and Shri Nirmalananda from the Yogoda path, and Dr. R.C. Agrawal and his wife.

Daaji privately shared his observations of the meditation, “The presence of revered Yoganandaji was felt along with Pujya Babuji Maharaj. Yoganandaji expressed his vision of the future, and Babuji approved it. Let us see how things move in the future. While I wonder how it will happen, I’m pretty sure it will happen since they want it. What is required from all concerned is open-heartedness and generosity of the heart to accept each other.”

After meditation, Daaji gave a short talk sharing information regarding the new school campus and coaching center at Kanha, Heartfulness magazine, and wellness offerings.

On his way back home from the meditation hall, Daaji invited Chaitanya and Nirmalananda to join him for breakfast. Afterward, Daaji took both of them for a walk and showed them the mini forest around his house.

At 10.30 a.m. Daaji had a physiotherapy session with Surekha Banda, the physiotherapist. These sessions, which have been prescribed for his shoulder pain, are now a part of his daily routine.

Daaji joined the team from KPMG at the Pearl conference hall at 11.15 a.m. He patiently listened to their feedback and observations, then gave a talk. As he was about to leave, he introduced an Iranian couple to the team and later took the couple along with him for lunch.

At 5.35 p.m. Daaji met DSP P.R. Sanghani, chief security to the Gujarat Chief Minister, and his team. In the conversation that followed, Daaji explained the importance of meditation and the Heartfulness practice to his guests.

Talking about the methods of seeking God, he said no one can recognize the original form of God, we can only imagine it. For example, today if we think of Lord Krishna, the face of Nitin Bhardwaj, who played the role of Shri Krishna in the Mahabharat television series, comes in front of us. If we are unable to recognize the original form of God, what is the purpose of darshan [vision of the Lord]? Daaji referred to Babuji’s saying that thousands of people come to see him, but no one is truly able to see him because real darshan is through the heart and not the eyes. We have to feel Him in our hearts. We have to invite God without any conditions, with an open heart and a reverential attitude. We have to experience God, only then will that faith last forever.

Between 6 and 6.26 p.m. Daaji walked his guests through relaxation and meditation. After meditation, one of the guests shared that there were many thoughts and his mind was wandering here and there.

Daaji replied, “The mind has a tendency and habit to wander all the time. Slowly we try to regulate it, not control it. It will take time. Don’t fight with thoughts, let them come. The more we give them attention, the more our mind is attracted to them. Just remind yourself that you are meditating.”

Referring to the Ashtavakra Gita, he stressed one particular shloka which asks us to treat wishes like poison and keep them away, as they spoil our spiritual journey. The ancient scripture encourages one and all to remove negativity and welcome positivity by practicing five essential qualities, namely, forgiveness, sincerity, satisfaction, kindness and truth.

Daaji met up with Dinesh Trivedi and Pradip Singh Chudasama at 6.50 p.m. He explained the Omkareshwar mountain project to them, and also referred to the development of the Mayuri forest as part of the Forests by Heartfulness initiative.

During the discussion, when one of the guests expressed the need for people to change, Daaji said, “It’s not so easy. For change to happen, one should be willing to invite the change. Even Lord Krishna failed in changing the Kauravas’ mindset, and he had to ultimately resort to destruction. The person should want to change, then things can happen and only then can we help.”

Taking the example of Kanha, Dinesh Trivedi asked if it is the positivity that changes the environment or is it the environment that attracts positivity?

Daaji replied, “Here it’s a bit of both. The atmosphere is lovely and your heart also resonates with it.” He then shared an example where even the atmosphere like that of Kanha cannot change a person if they are not willing to change.

“So one has to want to change. One has to resonate, and this resonance cannot come so easily. Enforcing change is like rape, where you take advantage of the other and force yourself on them. Unless one wants to change, you cannot make it happen. It is against nature.

“But people who are already inclined to change will benefit from such an atmosphere. Those who are not, they cannot be forced. It’s like wearing a raincoat and going out in the rain. Can you then enjoy the rain?”

Daaji recollected Babuji Maharaj’s saying that when you transmit to a thief, he becomes a better thief. The same Transmission can also help you to be liberated. So change is possible only when one is wanting to change. Being adamant that I know, I don’t need to change, I’m perfect, is the barrier.

After spending almost an hour with the guests, Daaji started back home. Suddenly he felt giddy and stopped to take rest for a couple of minutes before starting again. He stopped again for a small walk in the rainforest area before reaching home.

At 9.20 p.m. Daaji joined the Zoom call with ATA members and a special guest, Upasana Kamineni of the Apollo group of hospitals. As part of the interview, Upasana asked some poignant questions to which Daaji gave some wonderful answers. After the session, Daaji conducted meditation for all.

It was another tiring day, with many guests and activities from morning till night.
