Kanha Shantivanam 21st January 2024

When Daaji was about to reach home, he saw some of the children of the ashram workers waiting to see him. Daaji called all of them inside and met them in his office.

Daaji's unwavering emphasis on cleanliness has set an exceptionally high standard for the campus, despite the challenges posed by visitors who come here and are from outside the Heartfulness community. Kanha's pristine environment is a testament to this commitment, even in the face of large-scale events hosted here by other organizations or the exuberant gatherings of youth seminars.

This Sunday morning Daaji arrived early for the meditation session and waited in his office backstage for 20 minutes before conducting the meditation from 8.57 am to 9.32 am. After the meditation, Daaji solemnized four weddings:

1. Nidhi and Dhairya from Anand

2. Harsha from Lucknow and Gaurav from Warangal

3. Taruna and Vaibhav from Kanha

4. Smita and Ishan from Haldwani

When Daaji was about to reach home, he saw some of the children of the ashram workers waiting to see him. Daaji called all of them inside and met them in his office. They explained that they had decorated a small hut on the north side of the bus stop, and Daaji agreed to go and see it in the evening. He had little Layaa hand out chocolates to the children.

A family from Visakhapatnam came and gave marriage invitations to him. Shri Rajan, now a retired Indian Police Service officer, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Rose, both of them from the Indian Administration Services, came and met him. Lt. Rahul Tarun came to seek Daaji’s blessings before participating in the Paris Olympics. He has been one of India’s most successful athletes competing in the Olympics. Tirupti Kulkarni from the USA came and met Daaji as well. All of them spent more than an hour with Daaji, who then conducted meditation to all present there at 12.18 pm

Daaji skipped lunch and decided to take some rest. At 4:30 pm,  Daaji, accompanied by Sahaj and Nanak, ventured to the newly inaugurated coffee shop situated above the cafeteria. Young Nanak opted for a dosa, while Daaji had a slice of cake paired with a cup of coffee. However, their culinary experience was somewhat marred by the sight of the restaurant floor, which was in dire need of cleaning. Without hesitation, the plumbing department was promptly summoned to rectify the situation using a high-pressure water jet.

Cleanliness is a value that is very high up there in Daaji’s personal life. His love of purity applies to inner cleanliness with rigor, as he often speaks of it very strictly.

Daaji lamented how such occasions often witness a disregard for the sanctity of the space, with littering and disruptive behavior running rampant. It's a stark reminder of the contrast between the meditative mindset cherished within the Kanha Shantivanam community and the more uncivilized behavior exhibited when that meditative state is absent.

Yet, Daaji pondered aloud: How can we expect these visitors to embrace a meditative lifestyle if we don't extend them the invitation to experience it firsthand? Welcoming them with open arms presents an opportunity to elevate their consciousness and foster a deeper understanding of the standards upheld within our community.
